The Jones Family: Fall Year One

Since the puny hoomin vamps can't be out in direct sunlight, Moonshine takes her rage at moving to a new city out on the tulips.

I think she feels better now.

Madison and Rob are snug as bugs in their lovely new SOMNIG coffins. They don't have anything else to do with their days...

Well, until I remember Madison can work on crafting reagents.

These bathable fountains from MTS are invaluable for living with dirty, messy dogs.

Once night falls, Rob gets cracking on digging up treasure.

He's easily distracted, though.

Madison starts writing novels like a mad woman. This proves to be their main source of income.

Treasure chest!

After daybreak, the vampires activities include skilling, reagent making, and novel writing.

Moonshine is assaulted by the newspaper kid. My cats would never look so happy with their paws hanging in the air.

As a fashionable Sim, Madison is interested in sewing her own wardrobe.

So far, she can only sew potholders.

Since the Sims are both vampires, they're usually boring during the days. Frisco and Moonshine make up for this by having interesting autonomous actions. Frisco eats flowers when he hasn't any kibble.

Moonshine is just adorable.

Oh, no, Uaine! Don't steal their old newspaper when the current edition is right behind you. Don't it, I beg you.

This neighborhood is well on its way to getting a fire department and constable.

Frisco did not catch on fire, and Rob was able to put it out himself.

Madison rolled the want to buy new clothes, so I sent her to the small general store in Jennerica. (There are five households, so I opted to make the first non-owned community lot a store for all their basic needs.)

Rob's plan to get jewelry included bad posture and a growly expression.

Victor Valjean emigrated to this neighborhood as well. The sim unfortunate enough to marry him will be subjected to the Miserable Sims Challenge.

Rob met Naomi Hsu, and had a decent conversation with her.

Kelvin chatted with his mother.

And Linus was gawked at by the garden club lady.

Back at home, Frisco gets into more cuteness with a neighborhood stray. He gets along well with cats.

Madison gets back to writing her latest novel.

Until she remembers to change into her new duds.

And then she discovers the computer is broken. She managed to repair it without shocking herself on the power supply.

Finally, on the day before winter, the family takes out a §5,000 loan to open a clothing boutique for Madison.

"Aw, great. I'm in debt up to here!"

Geared mostly towards the ladies in the populous, Madison's Closet is cute, bright, and small. Expanding her inventory will happen as the shop becomes more profitable.

Despite it being aimed at Jennerican women, Josef Dietz is the first to check it out.

Madison works through the night, earning enough money to repay the loans (through the store rewards program) and achieved a level 2 business. Rob played the supportive brother and ran the register.

Time flies when you're busy, so Madison and Rob had to make a run for it to avoid being burnt to a crisp.

That night, Madison finally starts raking the fallen leaves,

Frisco plays with Mr. Tibbles,

and Rob finally gets to enjoy his new telescope.

Does it sound weird when I say that some adorable sim pics with a lot of pink was just what I needed? I feel much better now, thank you :)
And Garden Club lady is so fetch!

Doesn't sound weird to me at all. I get happy when pretty bright colors are around. When I worked at a fabric store, I'd trade assignments just to put away thread shipments.
So far I've been lucky with the game generated NPCs. It's probably the face templates and default replacements I use.

I didn't know dogs could eat flowers! I love how this game keeps surprising me :)

That surprised me as well. I'm glad they can, because Frisco was starving!

Love their clothing store. And I agree—you have so many cute, colorful things in your game! Here's hoping your vamps learn to leave dog food out before they go to bed from now on!

Thank you! I'm a color magpie, and Madison is one of my favorite Sims. I'll admit this rotation made me appreciate all those spare elders with nothing to do but babysit and fill pet dishes.
