SimPlan-X Build Your Own Curtains set: Repositoried! Finally!

Lots of people seem to like these meshes, but always complain about recoloring them or the size/number of files. I can’t blame them. Since so many of the meshes used the same texture, I decided to make the set repository.

These files have the same GUIDs but different file names. Therefore, you’ll have to remove the old curtains from your downloads folder in order to get the benefits of these. I’ve also made the naming scheme a little more sensible (to me, at least), and labeled the catalog descriptions in game more appropriately, too. No more having to place the curtain to see if it’s long or mid-length, left or right.

Just to blow your minds, the before and after statistics:
Before:
Unzipped, uncompressorized, with recolors: 83.3 megabytes
Unzipped, compressorized, with recolors: 29.5 megabytes
Total files: 466
After:
Unzipped, compressorized (force of habit, guys): 3.24 megabytes
Total files, including original recolors: 65

Download 2.85 mb

Original recolors included, so you don’t have to sort through and figure out what’s what.

Fabric master is spx-curtain-fabricMASTER-str8widelongleft.package. Former file name was spx-curtaincol5-mesh.package.
Tie-back fixture master is spx-curtain-tiebackMASTER-tielowleft.package. Former file name was spx-curtaincol1-mesh.package.
Wood master is spx-pelmet-woodMASTER-upper-1tile.package. Former file name was spx-curtaincol-pelmet1-upper-1tile-mesh.package.

What does repositoried mean?

When a set is repositoried, it means you only need to recolor only one mesh (the master) and the other meshes (slaves) will be able to pull color options from it.

An example using this set:
Let's say you want to recolor the curtain fabric. With the original set, you would have to recolor each curtain individually. With the repositoried version here, you only have to recolor the master mesh, and the other curtain meshes will use the textures from it without you having to do any more work. In the end, you have few files and a faster game.

I'm not really great at explaining things, so I apologize if I'm not clear. Sims_101 doesn't have an article explaining it, but perhaps you can post your question and someone else will be able to explain it well. http://sims-101.livejournal.com/538.html
