BaCC: The Ray Family, Week Six

After discovering that his wife had cheated on him, Craig Ray found a new place with his son and dog.

Orion rolled up the want to learn a skill, so he plopped down at the picnic table in the courtyard and began to read.

Baby literally had the best seat in the house. Craig took a short-term loan so that he could afford a bed for Orion and a fridge.

Because he was a single father just starting over, Craig often asked his neighbor Carena to watch Orion while he was at work.

Carena: Here kid, have some food.
Orion: Too busy. Must learn.

Mr. Humble brought a new gaming computer to the Rays' apartment that day. Craig had to sell it for the cash, but knowing his son would be crushed by the loss, he picked up a cheap computer at the pawn shop for Orion.

Coraline Charming stopped in to give Orion gaming tips, which he ignored.

The next day, Craig got a promotion and Orion got a B.

Orion also brought home his half-sister on his pollinator's side. They got along like two peas in a pod, which they kind of were.

A police officer stealing an invisible newspaper?! The scandal!

After getting a demotion to the bottom of the criminal career track, Craig took this as an opportunity to improve his skills so he can advance to the top without extra delays.

Orion was making friends with every little girl he met. Perhaps we have a future romance Sim on our hands?

Every morning at 6:30, Christian Love walks straight into the Ray apartment and uses their bathroom. It's great to know that he's reliable and regular, but he has his own bathroom!

Orion brings home another girl! This time it's his good friend Melora Sheedy.

He invites her over Saturday night to share in his father's birthday cake. Craig wanted to be alone when he transitioned, but who was he to deny his son cake and friends?

And on Sunday, there was skilling, snow and sunshine.

Playables: 50
Commercial lots: 15
College fund: $71576
Population: 250 (SM=5)

I'm not sure why the game marks the alien hybrids as siblings, but I like it! I did get a multi-PT hack when I discovered this, to make the town a little less inbred in the future. I come from a super-small town, and inbreeding is bad, mm'kay?

The Christian Love bathroom thing is really creepy and neat at the same time. He always sticks around afterwards, hogging the remote when Orion wants to watch cartoons before school.

Craig may remarry, but I think it may be a while. Apartments are tiny!

Orion is so cute, and that's neat that he's related to the other alien spawn!

He is really cute, and he's growing on me. I think when he was at the Fisker household, he was overshadowed by the other bajillion Sims living there. And I love that the game included that relationship (or that a hack did.)

I love the police officer stealing the paper.

With multi-pt hacks, they also mark kids of the same PT as siblings (so Gallium and Erbium from my RR gen are siblings of Erik's blue babies, which makes their half-sister's heart-farting over the rr kids a leeeeetle creepy). XD

Too bad there's no citizen's arrest. Funny thing is, Craig is in the Criminal career track, yet he's the one being robbed.

I'm glad to know the multi-PT hack will keep the same pollinator's offspring as related. I like that they are, but I hated only having one. Someone was going to wind up marrying their second cousin one day, and I'm not capable of remembering all that.

The game does get a bit creepy with the inappropriate attraction at times. At least it recognizes first cousins. *shivers* I think it does, right? I hope so.

Love the last pic, with the sun in the back. Also, LOL at the 'It's great to know that he's reliable and regular'

Thanks! I spotted the sun and had to include it in the shot. I hadn't really paid attention to it before.

Christian Love, who's name cracks me up every time anyway, using Ray's bathroom instead of his own is really, really weird!
untidyfanuntidyfan on January 3rd, 2012 04:21 pm (UTC)
It really is! I get a giggle out his name, too.

Amusing that the police officer is stealing from the guy in the criminal career. :D

Orion is pretty adorable. The traditional alien genetics work well on him, I think.

Always a bit challenging working with a family on a budget, but also rather fun. I like attempting to work them up to having better objects and a nicer place to live. Apartments are pretty handy with budgets in the game.

Their inverse behavior makes me smile. Perhaps it's revenge for evading arrest so many times?

Orion is pretty cute. I was worried that he was almost a twin of his slightly older half-sibling Troy Ray, but now I can tell them apart.

I do like that improvements seem to be a lot harder in this family & in apartment lots in general. In houses, it's like they just start being able to afford the $1200 dining chairs and $3000 bed as soon as they move in.

Tsk, tsk, Mr. Police Officer! And lol at Christian Love... Do you have some sort of hack that might be making him do that?
untidyfanuntidyfan on January 3rd, 2012 08:05 pm (UTC)
I used to have those hacks from Inge that controlled where Sims do certain things, but they were uninstalled before I created this neighborhood. Maybe there's another one, but I'm not sure what it is. It's funny, but annoying at the same time.

I love that the police officer is stealing from the criminal. :)
I think it was coded into the game to make aliens related. I have always liked it but yes, it would be hard to avoid inbreeding without having a multi PT hack.

I think it's a pretty neat feature, but with such a small town, it's easy to run out of suitable mates. It makes plotting a family tree a pain, though!
