BaCC: The Prism Family, Week Six, AweSimSauce Style

I finished this rotation two weeks ago, but another real-life explosion occurred. Fortunately, it was a positive one: I've been named store manager! Yay!

Anyway, here's the AweSimSauceness that you're looking for:

Royal Prism is imperturbable. Not even a burst water main bothers him.

He's an Sim-business employed Knowledge Sim, so he spends a lot of time painting. That §160 a day doesn't go very far.

And then - excitement! A kitty is giving birth. I was convinced it was Beans, and was amused by the thought bubble which I captioned "Why did you do this to me, Rice?!?!" Then I scrolled out and realized it was Rice who was giving birth. Oops. I switched their genders. Explains why Beans and Digit never had the option to try for a baby.

So now Beans is a proud papa to three cute kitties: Churchill, Horus, and Rasputina. The randomly generated names had all sorts of world leaders, so I just had to fix the gender for Rasputina. (By the by, I went to see Rasputina when they were nearby last month and it was PHENOMENAL! And BRILLIANT! And AWESOME!!)

Ahem. So have a picspam:

Raising kittens in TS2 is a multi-Sim job, so Royal went to the local art/coffee house to spouse search.

Everything was going well until he was struck by lightning when he was going to grab a rooftop latte. From then until Thursday, everything in Royal's life was kinda awful.

The cats ran out of food and drank their puddles. (EW!)

The only creatures to talk to were the cats, who were not amused by their mediocre care.

I cannot imagine a litter box that disgusting.

Then on Thursday morning, Royal remembered his fling, Lilly Do. Perhaps she'd consider living with him, helping with the cats and starting generation purple?

He skipped work that day because she agreed to come over.

For just one bolt, they sure do seem to like each other a lot.

So Royal decided to stop wasting time and propose.

She said yes, and my Awesimsauce legacy will survive to the next generation! I hope.

They rush off to the church for a wedding picspam.

So that's why the Unsavory Charlatan is always dressed up.

They get back home, and Lilly already starts proving to be handy to have by putting away some groceries she had purchased, and

By getting started on generation purple!

The help doesn't stop there! She exterminates the roaches. Unfortunately, she got sick in the process and Royal caught it.

I know how you feel, Royal. I got sick when I played this week. Perhaps I caught it from them?

Lilly isn't allowed to do anything but sleep, bathe, and read until she heals.

Then it's back to a life of serving her feline friends.

"Um, why did I marry into this household again?"

I wish I had been paying attention to the life meter on Digit. I wanted to keep him around longer. I liked his little ears.

In the middle of all this, the kittens grew up! This is Churchill.

Here's Horus.

And finally, Rasputina.

First time I've watched a SimCat's passing. It's rather depressing.

Digit was buried next to a scratching post tree in the back yard. It cost most of the family funds, but it was worth it to honor him.

Just so you might better identify them, action shots. This is Horus again. He has a little bit of brown on him.

Rasputina has a fluffy tail.

Churchill doesn't.

Until Royal maxes his creativity skill, Lilly is stuck digging for treasure to earn money for the house. No available jobs have shown up in the job search yet.

These cat ghosts will never stop being creepy.

Churchill: Foolish hoomin. Learn to use the litter box!

Aw, Lilly dresses to match the generation she's carrying! How sweet!

And before I knew it, it was Sunday afternoon and Lilly went into labor. She looks almost cheerful about it, whereas Royal is freaking out.

Meet little Lilac Prism. I have no real naming scheme, other than the color-related one the rules impose on me.

They look like a sweet family.

After all this, my game starts lagging for a minute, so I scroll out to discover this going on.

And it's not what I expected at all. It's Beans & Rice fighting. These two have a great relationship, so I'm not sure what sparked the fight. I'll blame the kitty toy.

Next time, on An AweSimSauce BaCC: One new baby? Or more?

Stats:
Playables: 44
Commercial lots: 14
College fund: $66254
Population: 176 (SM=3)

Notes:
Finally, a generation with challenges! Next week should be fun, provided I remember to fill one of Lilac's wants every day.

A quick question about Awesimsauce legacies, ACR, and third (or more) babies: if they decide to 'Try for Baby' on their own and are successful, what should I do about it? Put the child up for adoption, end the pregnancy, or can I keep as long as it's out of the running for heir?

For extra babies (and my sims are terrible at always having too many) the rule-ish thing is just that any sim born after the 2nd one is not eligible for heir. And I speak with knowledge, since I wrote many of the rules. XD

Oh, awesome! I'm glad to know who to ask from now on, and super relieved I don't have to give up my SimBabies in this household. My population score needs all the help it can get. The rules I use may have mentioned it, but I'm terrible at remembering stuff like that.
Rachelsimsforaranya on December 19th, 2011 11:56 pm (UTC)
I don't think we ever actually PUT in the rules. /fail. XD
untidyfanuntidyfan on December 20th, 2011 12:08 am (UTC)
I dug out the rules I have, and it only mentions the limit. But, not everyone plays with ACR or Risky Woohoo, so I can see how that might have been overlooked. There also might be a setting somewhere that disables the "Try for Baby" option. I should check into that. Eh. Next week.

Kitty babies! I think Rasputina is my favorite. Or Horus? Don't make me choose!
untidyfanuntidyfan on December 19th, 2011 11:56 pm (UTC)
I love kittens too, in real life and the game. I hate to say it, but I think Horus is my favorite, since he has the patch of dark brown and blue eyes. Churchill & Rasputina look too similar for my tastes (although Raspy & Church are very well behaved, while Horus is a mischief-maker)

I've never seen a the reaper come for a cat either, no fair to tease the poor thing.

It's so very sad. Kibble of life as much as I can stand. I think Grim threw the kitty toy up into the ceiling, so at least he's not a complete jerk. Just 99.9% jerk for taking Digit.

Great update! I loved the Charlatan at the wedding, lol. The kitties are all adorable, except for the dead ones which you are very right...they are super creepy. Can't wait to see Lilac grow up!
untidyfanuntidyfan on December 22nd, 2011 02:17 am (UTC)
Thank you! It was really funny to see the Charlatan there, but the Sims skedaddled as soon as it was over to prevent a pickpocketing. On their way out, he had cornered the Garden Club Lady.

I love the SimCats, but yeah, ghost cat=creepy. I think it's the bug eyes and super bright teeth.

I'm so excited to play Lilac, too!

Wow, a lot happened this update!

I know it was supposed to be sad but the first thought that popped into my head when seeing the picture of Digit and Grim was, "That is a whole herd of cats." ;p

But all very adorable cats! Nice that all the kittens turned out to be different and lucky for Royal that he found someone to help him take care of said kittens, not to mention start his own family with.

Sort of amusing that the Unsavory Charlatan decided to attend the wedding. And indeed him always being dressed up means he is ready for any formal occasion.

This was a fun update. :)

You're so right. At first, it was dull and I couldn't wait for it to be over. Then Lilly married into the family and Wha-bam! Stuff happens.

I had the exact same thought when I finished taking the pictures of the new adult cats. They finished growing up and ran to see Digit off. I was just shocked to see how many there were! (Also, and kitty lovers everywhere may smite me, but I was a little relieved to be down to five cats. But I'd rather Digit still be alive. Conflicted? Maybe)

I was pleased at their differences, but I still get them mixed up. And I'm so glad Lilly is around to clean litterboxes and cat beds. Also, very very happy they aren't dogs who can't bathe themselves.

It's hard to distrust a dapper man, I suppose. Plus, he can get into those highbrow venues with deep pockets ripe for the picking. Now I wonder if Sims can become friends with him. He'd be an interesting party guest.

Thank you!

Congrats on the promotion!

Those poor kitties, I have never seen such a nasty litter box O.O LOL at the Unsavory Charlatan being a wedding guest, perhaps he has a secret sentimental side? Or he's just there for the cake?

That cat ghost is scary! I've never seen one before! Yikes.
untidyfanuntidyfan on December 22nd, 2011 02:21 am (UTC)
That litterbox was horrifying. My kitties wouldn't tolerate such nastiness. I can only imagine their yowling. They're bad enough when they want to go outside (Which they're not allowed to do)

Oh, maybe someone will write a short story about the Charlatan as a sentimentalist. Personally, I was convinced he was there to pinch a present. And probably a couple of slices of cake, too.

I'm not crazy about ghost cats. More incentive to feed them kibble of life, I guess.

ETA: Thanks for your congratulations! It's nice to be able to celebrate something!

My cat would have clawed me to death and left "presents" all over my bed... I guess I'm glad that doesn't happen in the Sims O.O

The kitties turned out great! And yes, the cat ghosts are SUPER creepy...
untidyfanuntidyfan on December 22nd, 2011 02:35 am (UTC)
Thank you! I'm glad they weren't complete cookie-cutters. I was afraid they'd look too much alike.

Totally not a fan of ghost cats, but it's nice to think Digit is floating around somewhere.

(Suuuuper late commentary, ftw.)

I like Royal, he looks pretty awesome in blue. And it looks like you got a nice blend of kitty genes in the three kittens, which is always good. C:

And, congratulations on your promotion! :D

(Better late than never! After a certain point, I just read and don't comment. Bad me!)

Pets always usually turn out to be cookie cutters, but I'm also glad that they have little differences to identify them.

Thanks you! I'm quite happy about it.

I'm a little behind on this, but congrats on the promotion! Hope you had a great holiday.

I didn't realize you read these. Little embarrassed now - my writing is terrible when put next to yours. But thank you! I'm quite pleased about the promotion, and a bit nervous, too.

I couldn't disagree more! The notes you write on Facebook, for instance, are always incredibly funny. Good luck in the new position!
