BaCC: The McCormick Family, Week Six

Rachel squeezes in a few hours of ballet practice before school. She loves dance and the athleticism it requires just like her mother.

In order to keep the studio open, Janine has resorted to selling dance shoes and posters. She's surprised by the interest the neighborhood has shown.

Bonehilda Skeleton, the newest townie in the 'hood, stops by for a twirl on the dance floor.

Back home, Scot shows off his boogie fever to the dogs. They are appropriately confused and mesmerized.

Janine's indiscretion from last week is still a secret.

Note to self: The next time I wash a dog, keep the door in between us to prevent being splashed in the face. Also, wear bathing suit.

I think Rachel has a different bus driver than the rest of the kids. Why?

Rather than getting started on her first homework assignment, Rachel plays on her merry-go-round.

This is the first time I've noticed the plumbbob there. I generally don't use the merry-go-round, though.

The dogs and Rachel get along well. Rachel helps out with training them while her father is at work.

Drinking eggplant juice for quick knowledge points. Eggplant juice sounds disgusting even to me, and I like eggplant!

The Gift of Dance Studio was quickly becoming popular. Janine was struggling to run it alone, but her efforts didn't go unnoticed by the business columnist from Jennerica.

"I sense someone stupid tiptoeing past my business."

The photo was taken to show the "Best of the Best" award, but I caught the crook (and Janine's suitable expression) instead.

"Tiptoe through the tulips... er... lilies"

Rachel makes friends with Hunter, the most popular boy at New Jennerican Elementary.

She quickly says bye to him and rushes to greet her dad after he returns from work.

Scout: Pet beds are for suckers.

It seems that the dogs in this house refuse to use their pet beds or the dog house.

Maybe because they're filthy. Perhaps Scot should fumigate the dog house instead?

Next day, a clean dog house for (mildly) dirty deeds.

Puppy-making time!

Some serious couples pee with the bathroom door open. Scout and Wink take this idea one step further.

Not only is the shop popular, the actual studio is garnering interest as well.

Father-daughter smustle time! Janine is in the bedroom resting, otherwise she'd be right out here with them.

Rachel is an awfully small girl for such big shears.

Sunday afternoon. Scot stays home with Rachel while Janine is working.

Like most Sims who see a synthesizer, Rachel is obsessed.

With the last litter of puppies born in the game, I thought smoke was coming from the poor dog. Now I realize it's just a glow.

And thus, little Pepper was born.

Puppies have tongues! For cute!

Scot loves all his dogs (dawgs?)

Are you still conscious after all this cute?

Unfortunately, it's Sunday afternoon, so we won't know how Pepper turns out until next time!

Stats:

Commercial lots: 14
College fund: $60509
Population: 160 (SM=4)

The Gift of Dance Studio - Rank 4 Notes:
The McCormick family made the first donation to the college fund in the amount of $7,311. If, after the twenty percent taxes are deducted on Thursday, a family has plenty of extra funds to burn, I'm going to start collecting donations. It's still going to take forever to get a college, anyway. I meant to send the McCormicks on vacation this week but totally spazzed on it.

If you remember, Janine found her three-bolt match in a masseuse from a vacation destination, and it was suggested she go on a vacation to find him and to learn the native dances to teach at the studio. I still plan on doing that. Probably next week.

Also, thanks to all those who suggested that the dance studio sell ballet slippers and posters and such! The shop is doing wonderfully. I made a couple of ballet poster recolors (which didn't get pictured) and I may build the idea into a full set.

Finally, I did townify Bonehilda Skeleton by Sentate. I hope someone invites her into their home; she's a great Sim I hope to play!

Donations towards a University is a good idea, I mean, there is only so much money a sim needs!

I know! The rules I follow suggest taking a million dollar donation from a single family or taxes from each family. It doesn't seem like cheating to take smaller donations from individual families, though.

Scout is funny "Pet bed are for suckers" and Bonhilda looks funny getting her groove on.

I suspect my real-life pets think similar things. Bonehilda is funny, wiggling away. It's hard to imagine a bunch of bones being able to dance but she pulls it off!

I was very amused to see Bonehilda Skeleton stopping by for a dance. :D I downloaded her too. Ah, nostalgia. It will be funny to see her pop up in your hood though.

You know, wearing a bathing suit while washing a dog does seem a good idea. The door though? While great in theory, would probably not be so great in practice, unless you can also put your face through it like Janine. Talented. ;p

I've never noticed the plumbob on the merry-go-round either! Good eye.

Amusing that the crook dropped by the store, tip-toeing even. hah. That has only happened once while I was playing a business and I was a bit worried they would come in and do something but they just left. Odd.

It is really nice to see the dance part of the studio being used! That is really neat although the other part with selling slippers and posters works nicely too. I'm curious about the recolors you mentioned making for posters. You know, another object idea could be ballet slippers in shoe boxes. I know there are some shoe box meshes around with open lids. :) Or maybe some dance instructions books or videos?

I look forward to seeing how Pepper is going to turn out. :)

The swimsuit is pretty clever. I never thought I'd take practical advice from TS2, but I might.

The burglar didn't stop in the shop in my game, either. Just wandered by.

Oh, shoes in boxes and instruction booklets would be great items for the shop! I was going to extract some of the field trip rewards from Generations, but I've been having trouble with them.

Extract some of the field trip rewards? Oh, yes please! I hope you are able to figure them out. I don't have generations or else I would offer to help, if I even could. :) If they are still being bothersome, you may post at gos for a bit of help.

I love puppies in the game. They are so cute! :)

I am glad that the dance studio is doing better now. Mine is taking forever to level up.

Puppies and kittens are so adorable in-game. I don't know why I don't make my sims have more.

Dance studios are incredibly hard to level up, but adding items to sell help a lot.

EeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeePUPPIES!
Sorry, I just about passed out for a moment there. Puppies! I love Scout dreaming of the unused pet bed.
And Bonehilda!

They are so adorablicious. Must... resist.. urge... for more!

Bonehilda is awesome. I'd suggest everyone nab her.
