BaCC: The Sheedy Family, Week Six

The Sheedys - a minimal angst family. I <3 them for it. Guess what?

It confusing to have a Fortune Sim who is a stay-at-home parent. Luckily, Sela's LTW is to have five top level businesses, so it's not so miserable for her.

That won't scar a child, noooo...

Despite her inappropriate actions, Sela was a great mother.

And it's birthday time!

Melora grew up to be a little princess.

She got a quick makeover, including a plumb bob adorned tiara.

This little princess still does all the chores she can around the house.

I hate when Sims ignore TVs that aren't in occupied bedrooms. It's just annoying.

Once Princess Melora had been sent to school, Sela went to her business.

That's the kind of service I feel like I get sometimes. Despite her crappy customer service, Sela managed to get enough money to purchase her next business.

Well, she had to dig up a treasure chest, too. $26k isn't cheap.

Back home from the first day of school. Sela helped Melora with her homework.

Alexa Ray stole a newspaper.

Melora spent the afternoon chatting with her classmates.

She invited Hunter Fisker-Ray over, but her parents decided it was time to visit the new business.

That trashcan must be fascinating.

It's called Red Bird Lanes. Until the business is closer to rank ten, they'll be selling beers, trophies, "bowling" shoes, cigarettes and bowling lanes. This new business opens the Athletic career track. Yay!

Appropriately, the gamer guy is the cashier. He's got maxed logic!

Melora loves hanging out at the new shop!

Back home, Melora resumes her playdate with Hunter.

Sela and Jason sneak upstairs to try for a baby. No, bad Sims (and ACR)! I had planned on Melora being an only child.

But, Sela had been in the middle of preparing dinner.

After putting out the fire, Sela salvages what's left of the dinner. The family chokes it down, but Hunter excused himself from the charred food.

The next day, Sela purchased a new business. It's a flea market, the Shoo Flea Market by antimaccassar. I love decorating it.

First customer was Serio Duddledom, and he spent a whole dollar.

Princess Melora had been begging for a pet for months, so K-9 cop who had his skintone corrected in SimPE stopped by.

And he dropped off this fuzzy bundle!

Fuzzy bundle's name is Biscuit. Prince Biscuit of the Sheedy Kingdom to little Princess Melora.

Back at the Shoo Flea Market, Sela managed to hire the charismatic Ms. Big or at least a Sim in Ms. Big clothing. It seems out of place to have someone in evening attire at a flea market, but she's a great salesperson.

Biscuit grew up the next day, too.

This family is close. It's nice to play a family that gets along for a change.

Melora continues to make friends with all her classmates.

Shoo Flea Market made it all the way to rank seven by Saturday.

Biscuit being Biscuit. He loves hanging out on the bed, rather than his pet bed, just like most pets I know.

Football on a lazy afternoon: a great way to spend Sunday.

Playables: 40
Commercial lots: 14
College fund: $51,559

Is Sela also selling TruBlood? How awesome is that!

No, but she absolutely should! Vamps are coming to New Jennerica in the next rotation. (Spoiler alert?) I'm going to add beverages to the bar so it can go beyond Rank 3, so I'll add it!

I love how you took the princess dress and went with it even to the extent of a crown. XD

(OOOOO VAMPIRES COMING)

I never use the princess stuff, and this seemed like the perfect excuse to use 'em. Plus, she's a slightly spoiled only child, so it fits.

I'm so excited for the new additions! They're from the old neighborhood, but they were some of my favorites.

Biscuit is awesome :D And I'm so impressed by how well the Shoo Flea Market is doing!

I agree, Biscuit is pretty great. I was a little startled by how much I play Shoo Flea Market and how quickly I gained levels. Between the highly charismatic sales team and the playability of the lot, it's pretty much unstoppable.

Shoo Flea Market is so cute *hunts download*
I also love your bowling alley/shop, what a neat idea!

Thanks and thanks! The flea market is really versatile, so it's great addition to your 'hood.

You're using my flea market! *hyperventilates* It looks great! I love the little pots hanging on the wall.

You manage the businesses/school/work so well! I can never figure out the timing properly.

Biscuit is ADORABLE!

Naturally! It's a really great shop, very versatile and affordable.

I don't use the community time hack, so that helps time management a lot. I would use it to "play fair" but every time I install it things start acting strangely.

Biscuit really fits in with the family.

I'm digging the princess theme for Melora, it's a nice way to make the family distinct from others. :3 Good luck with the flea market! I keep thinking I should open an op-shop in Krow - a thrift/charity store. Just gotta find the right family for it.

I love the princess theme too. Sadly, it helps define her personality for me. The flea market is oodles of fun. It's great way to have a mish-mash of items for sale.

Huzzah! Another update. :D

Melora is adorable and I like that you went with the themed dress she grew up in. That is cute.

I got a chuckle out of the very fascinating trashcan. ;p

I also like the new businesses, Red Bird Lanes and the Flea Market. That is a neat idea but you have had quite a knack for coming up with creative and entertaining stores! I must admit that I always look forward to what new ones you will come up with.

Biscuit is cute! Always fun to adopt a pet as a puppy/kitten since you never know what you are going to get when they age up. But Prince Biscuit is too cute!

I know! I'm this close to being able to play my BaCC again. Just one more update to post. Yay!

It's a great change of pace to theme the childhood. I usually just ignore the Family Fun Stuff theme tidbits because I don't know anyone who actually had a themed childhood, and if I did, I'd feel very sorry for them. But you know, it's the Sims.

Thanks! OFB was a surprising favorite for me. Who else would put it in their top three EPs? I suppose I'm a secret capitalism fanatic. The Shoo Flea Market was heavily inspired by antimaccassar's original, I must admit. There's a lot of items to be added to the other stalls.

Kittens and puppies almost always look so different when they grow up, but Biscuit actually looked similar to his puppy self. He looks a little like Rudy, in a way. It may be just that he's a small black dog, though.

Biscuit! Flea market! Princess! Bowling alley! Fanny pack guy! So much good stuff!
untidyfanuntidyfan on December 1st, 2011 11:00 pm (UTC)
Thanks! I love the flea market, too!

Fanny pack guy is actually Victor Valjean. He got to stop wearing rags after suffering so much in his first week. I just forgot to mention that.
