The Charming Family, Week Six
It's been a while since I've been able to play the Charmings and I rather missed them.

The week started on a sad note, when I realized that Miss Piggy cat didn't have much longer.

Carena spends all night skilling with the hopes of maximizing creativity and arts enthusiasm.

Allegra: If I pee here, everyone will blame the kid for the puddle. Heh heh heh.

I promise you, Hattie does take care of her child.

But she has a more important task now: providing the last snuggles for Miss Piggy.

Every morning, Annwn wakes up, tends the garden, and takes over the care of Lori and the household chores after the girls leave for school.

I tried to keep an eye on Piggy, I swear, but I got distracted and missed the visit from Grimmy.

This is what distracted me. Thrilling, isn't it? She just does it every day.

Piggy was moved to the garden. A bit more pleasant and realistic for a deceased pet.

Cliff Ray comes home with Danni almost every day. Fortunately for the family, he only flirts with Danni. I couldn't take a sibling rivalry in this household.

Note to self: make this Troy's everyday outfit. It really suits him, pun intended.

New Jennerican Grocery got a bit of a makeover.

I love the "Dazzle" interaction for so many reasons.

As the shop was closing for the evening, the good witch came to visit.

Someone is going to be a non-alien supernatural in this town, dagnabbit!

After they chatted for a while, it was time to visit Bytes and Bots.

Nepotism is great, but Coraline will earn the same wages as an other Sim with her skills. The Charmings didn't become the richest family in N.J. by spending recklessly.

When the family returned home, it was time for the twins to grow up. Carena went first.

"I wish for a small, one-person house, all to myself!"

You and me both, Carena!

Whoa, intense stare. She's definitely going to be one of those coffee drinking artsy types.

She reinforces the idea by heading straight for the easel.

Hattie's turn was next.

Growing up is shocking, apparently.

Finishing up this birthday triple header is Lori.

Most of the time, I think Sim infants are pretty bland, but Lori is quite adorable with her giant eyes and inquisitive, pleasant expression.

Huggles for Auntie Danni!

Not the world's cutest toddler. Not even close. What happened to you, Lori?

Allegra: Kid, I'm going to blame so many puddles of piddle on you for this.

See, Hattie does care for her child.

Every time Annwn sprays her crops, I stare at her expectantly.

Staring pays off when a cloud of insectides engulf Annwn.

HAHA! First PlantSim in New Jennerica. On the downside, her elder lifestage was reset to maximum days left. Annwn is never going to die.

Now that the twins are adults, they'll each get their own business (along with the wholesale rewards the parents earned.) Because Hattie is a family Sim, she's getting Gimme Toys!, the premiere place in New Jennerica to pick up baby supplies.

PlantSims have a near masochistic idle behaviour: plucking the petals off a daisy.

Annwn has great people skills, so she's in charge of hiring for all the family's businesses. Amanda here has great charisma, so I think she'll be a wonderful asset to the shop.

Back home, Carena wanted a sewing machine, and so she got one. She spent a lot of time stitching away, and had a silver badge before the end of the week.

She also got her own business, too. It's a small art gallery with a coffee shop on the roof top.

A quick tour:

It's not ideal during a storm, but it has a wonderful view of expanding New Jennerica.

Annwn makes the first sale to Sela Sheedy. Go, go gold sales talent badge.

The evil head witch actually stepped inside the shop. They never do that.

This is going to be annoying. Because when you're looking for a painting, you always head to highest point of the lot during a thunderstorm.

To augment stock for her shop, Hattie got to work at the toy-crafting bench.

She also invited over her three-bolt match. Remember Juan Reamon? I didn't either.

First thing he does upon being invited over is head for her parents' bed. He hasn't even kissed her yet!

Hattie remedied the not yet kissed problem pretty quickly.

She promptly proposed, and he accepted, thanks to the relationship boosts of ACR-induced wooing.

Then they celebrated the engagement and his moving in properly.

*whistles innocently*

Juan may have wanted to become a Captain Hero, and I may have helped him to earn a spot on the force.

Looks like ACR gave Hattie and Juan another little surprise.

Did you know that elder PlantSims can have SporeBabies? Now you know.

It's a girl! Sprout Charming, to be exact. Here, have a little picspam.

I'm hoping those cheekbones smooth out.

Danni:  And the princess loved her toy xylophone.
Sprout: Must... extricate... sneaky... booger...

That's what I call diligence.

So sweet, aunt and niece playing together.

Awesome! First genie in Jennerica!

I feel like Carena is a little neglected, so I give her the honor of first wish. Naturally, it's money.

Hattie's wedding dress is a Mrs. Claus outfit? Poor dear.

Please note Carena's sack of Simoleons behind her.

After the wedding, it's time for little Lori to grow up.

She looks less... well... horrifying now that she's a kid. I <3 her nose!

If the birthday cake wish didn't work, Lori had a back-up plan. I think she wished for long life (just what every Charming needs. /sarcasm)

Piggy's first haunting!

Pfft. That's not scary, Troy. It's a cat that's a ghost.

Danni invited over her witch friend.

Her motives must have been pretty obvious, because she didn't even have to ask.

I'm so excited to have a witch in the 'hood.

Troy is a proud grandpa dad stepdad to Sprout. This has to be the world's most confusing family tree without being inbred.

I don't know what Rachel McCormick did to deserve this.

Carena isn't having any luck finding her three-bolt match.

Annwn Charming is the only Sim who could look happy about being chased by bees.

The stupid robot breaks all the time, but Troy decided to lecture Lori for touching it. Talk about unfair.

What a grouchy face.

Just before dawn, Hattie went into labor.

She had a little girl, Tracey Reamon.

Then she followed up with wee Morris. Twins. Again.

Danni steps up to take her mother's place as cute face-maker in the family.

Again?! After this, I checked the Bot. It's not broken. What are these kids doing and why?

Well, Sela does steal newspapers. Maybe she did deserve it.

On Sunday evening, after six, I had Hattie and her children move out to a new home. I couldn't take this overcrowded household any longer. Carena soon followed.

I wanted Juan to go to his first day of work. He joined his wife and children when he returned home that night.

Stats:
Playables: 38
Commercial lots: 11
College fund: $47921
Population: 152 (SM=4)

New Jennerican Grocery - Rank 9, Bytes and Bots - Rank 5, Gimme Toys! (Hattie Charming's lot) - Rank 3, Art House (Carena Charming's shop) - Rank 2

Notes:
We'll see Coraline at the end of the rotation, in what feels like a thousand households from now. New Jennerica's population has really exploded.

Poor Sela! LOL

It was terrible how everybody got shocked. They must get some high-priced newspaper that everyone wants.

Thanks for reading!

Wow, for some reason I thought Lori was a little boy. I was quite surprised to see that it wasn't so, lol.

Yay for a new household! Or, well, households.

Good luck with the twins, lol.

Ha! I do that sometimes, myself especially if I give them a unisex name.

I think all of these new households have unlocked a community lot, but I'll wait until the end of the week for all households to see.

Bravo for you! That was a really busy household and you handled it so well.

How did you get a spore baby that isn't green?
untidyfanuntidyfan on June 25th, 2011 01:20 am (UTC)
Thank you - at times it got a little annoying, but I and all my Simmies survived it.

I have a default by Aquilegia @ GOS that's vines only. http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=9947.0

Thanks for the link!

Hah, Allegra is quite amusing. :) But it was sad to see Piggy had to go.

Lori looks quite...interesting. Yet sometimes the rather not so adorable toddlers wind up having some of the most pretty and unique features as they get older. It will be neat to see how Lori grows into her looks.

So many supernatural beings in one family! It seems like a lot of fun to play with really. :)

I really liked the idea of the toy store, what a neat idea! And the store itself looks quite cute. Nicely done!

Allegra can be an imp, but she's cute about it! I'm more upset about Ms. Piggy's passing than I had expected to be. Poor girl. I hate when pets die, even in a silly game.

I've got high hopes for Lori, and I think she'll meet them. She's much less frightening as a child.

I'm excited about all the supers, especially the PlantSim. I've really only played one once before, in an undocumented legacy.

Thank you! I'm pleased with the store, too. I had meant to take photos of the exterior, because there's a little playground in the front. Maybe next week.

So much going on here! Confession: I often feel worse when pets die than when actual sims die :/

Lori has been undergoing a very ... dynamic aging process! I can't wait to see what she comes up with for her teen face!
untidyfanuntidyfan on June 28th, 2011 07:25 pm (UTC)
Me, too! I think it's partly because you can spoil a Sim rotten with nice furnishings, lovely houses & spouses, and dream jobs, but what do the pets get? Not much besides some cuddles and a pet bed.

I like the way you put that! I'm eager to see her teen face, too.

Wow, it was certainly a busy week for the charming family!

And no, I didn't know elder PlantSims could have sporeBabies!

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing how Lori grows into her looks, some kids just need to grow into their cheekbones ;)
untidyfanuntidyfan on June 28th, 2011 07:30 pm (UTC)
It didn't feel so overwhelming as I was playing, but a lot happened! I'm so glad most of the family has moved out. Though, why did I think it was a good idea to have a SporeBaby when Annwn is an elder? *frowns at self* It is amazing all the little tidbits I've learned playing a BaCC.

Alien progeny can make some ugly children that turn out to be beautiful, and the game is never kind to severe/extreme features. I've got a good feeling about Lori. After all, I love how her mother turned out.

That puddle thing was hilarious XD
Wow I didn't know that happened with the bot! It's quite funny :D
Great update !
untidyfanuntidyfan on June 28th, 2011 07:36 pm (UTC)
Thank you! When I caught Allegra piddling in front of the crib, that's the only reason I could fathom. I suspect all kitties of finding ways to blame humans for their little misdeeds.

The bot behavior was another thing I've learned by playing a BaCC. I was surprised about the kids. Seems a little excessive for newspaper theft.

What a cute family! :( Miss Piggy Cat! Wonder what's wrong with the security bot!
untidyfanuntidyfan on June 28th, 2011 07:38 pm (UTC)
Thanks! Miss Piggy will be deeply missed.

I'm not sure what's going on with the bot - maybe it's malfunctioning or maybe that's what it's meant to do. I wish there was a setting on it to shock only if they touch the gnomes or the trash can. Newspaper theft is no big deal. After all, they go straight to the compost bin. Thieves are actually doing me a favor!

I love how unique Lori is. She has an adorable nose. Danni makes an awesome witch and I love the faces that she makes as well. The art gallery is cute. I need to make some more colorful building in my 'hood.
untidyfanuntidyfan on July 21st, 2011 07:40 pm (UTC)
Lori is very unique, which is always great for me. Danni is an easy favorite, and quite adorable.

The art gallery is brighter than I usually like, but if you can't use color at an art gallery, where can you? Unfortunately, it doesn't exactly fit in anywhere with it's ultra modern styles.
