BaCC: The McCormick Family, Week Five

Last week, we discovered Janine's adorable antics. She delivered them once again this week, as well as a new baby!

Scot developed his painting skills, and starting selling his paintings to a dealer in SimCity. The grocery store couldn't pay him much, and the McCormicks needed every penny they could get.

Every simoleon Janine collected was a simoleon closer to owning her dance studio.

As Janine's pregnancy grew more apparent, Scot moved the easel upstairs to make room for the nursery.

Janine realized that she didn't have any friends other than Scot, so she invited over her neighbor, Shelby, and chatted with her. It turned out that Shelby was more interested in hanging out in the McCormicks' hot tub.

During a quick recharge in the middle of a marathon dance session, Janine went into labor.

This beautiful, raven-haired baby girl was the result.

They named her Rachel.

After tucking Rachel into her crib, Janine gained the ability to instruct others in dance, and she was allowed to purchase The Gift of Dance Studio. The SimCity Dance Troupe began to take her application more seriously. Hopefully they'd offer her a position any day now.

People in New Jennerica weren't very interested in dancing in the middle of the night, though.

It didn't matter to Janine. She knew it was just a matter of time until they changed their minds.

Before they knew it, it was Rachel's birthday.

She grew up to be an beautiful toddler.

And little Rachel loved to dance, just like Mommy.

Life wasn't all about dancing, though. Rachel needed to be potty-trained.

She had to learn how to walk, too, but sometimes she evaded of her lessons by hiding behind the bookshelves.

She also needed her rest, which she protested every chance she could.

Scot taught Rachel when he could steal her away from Janine.

Janine took advantage of Scot's supervision and visited My Muse - Music & Dance Studio. She was hoping for a bit of a dance competition. Unfortunately, there weren't many people there. It was just Arik Fisker and Clifford Ray...

And this dashing fellow.

Scot spent a lot of time working both at the grocery store and around the house. He decided it was about time to start treating himself to some things he wanted and to spend some quality time with his family.

He started to play the dust-covered game system they had, and discovered his passion for gaming.

He enjoyed nurturing his relationships with his family.

Scot also purchased a dog house. That must mean...

Yes, the McCormicks adopted a puppy.

The puppy's name is Scout, and Scot loves his new little friend. It was nice to have another fellow in the house, even if it was a dog.

Janine visited her dance studio once more before the end of the week. Much to her delight, people were starting to take an interest in her hobby! Eventually Janine hoped to start hosting free dance classes for the neighborhood. They could use them.

Scout was scheduled to grow up Saturday morning. Scot couldn't wait to have a grown dog to roughhouse with. Sure, puppies were cute, but in his opinion, a big dog was a better companion.

Scout didn't turn out to be as big as Scot thought.

He was still a well-mannered gent, always sleeping in his dog bed or house, never chewing the furniture.

Finally it was Sunday night, and Rachel was ready to become a child. Janine carried her to the cake, where together they blew out the candles.

Rachel ate a slice of cake and ran straight to bed.

Janine had invited passerby Gordon Wolosenko in to celebrate and spent a little time getting to know him. After a couple of a hours of just hanging out, Gordon stood up and offered to introduce her to a friend of his.

His name was Bruce Day, and despite his homely appearance, he and Janine had quite a bit of attraction.

Scout sat by to keep an eye on those two, but he wasn't able to stop them from what happened next.

They kissed.

The Gift of Dance Studio - Rank 0. I have plans to add related sellables so Janine may actually turn a profit.

For unlocking the dance career, I'm following the tweaked rules on Redmond Flats which state, "The dance studio that opens this career can only be owned by a Sim who has the ability to instruct in Music and Dance." Janine has that, and now she's got the slot in Dance career track, too.

Damn ACR! I only accepted Gordon's blind date because it was an easy, fast friend for Janine. I didn't want her to cheat on Scot at all. There's enough of that at the Fisker household. Grr...

And, note to self: must decorate kitchen.

Scout is a very curious looking dog, lol. I think his puppies would look fascinating. :C

Darn ACR. *shakefist*

Oh, and - you might know. I'm looking for purple (....and blue) recolours of that kitchen, to go with my Awesimsauce legacy. 8| Ever seen such a thing?

His tail and "mustache" remind me of the tourists in BV for some reason. I really should try to breed him, maybe have a pets uglacy of sorts. Lol, I don't even think I've ever had puppies in-game, and I got Pets when it came out.

Piggis-sims.net has a solid recolors of almost all the Maxis appliances. You'll find them under the rooms category. I'll poke around for my .psds for the kitchen, too. I've literally just started an Awesimsauce legacy and will probably need them myself.

Lol, I thought that too! I think he'd be great fun to breed. :P

Thanks for the link. 8D I need more reasons to plump up my downloads folder!

I wanna see your awesimsauce legacy. 8D

Janine looks cute in her little outfit. :)
Uh-oh! Janine's blind date is pretty cute though. That is my favorite face template.

Thank you! Janine looks cute in just about everything - she's one of my favorite Sims.

I think it's the hair that puts me off Bruce. It makes Sims' heads look like colorful volleyballs to me. The masseuse pajamas don't help him, either.

I really like the dance studio and the idea you have for it! Perhaps you could sell ballet slippers or dance posters. It is a pity that you can't actually instruct in dance and get money from it unless you used some sort of money transfer hack. But the dance studio is very interesting and I look forward to seeing more about it!

Rachel is precious and Scout is amusingly adorable.

Oh, ACR. Always attempting to catch you off guard and mess up your plans. :D

*gasps and fumbles for tinfoil hat* That's exactly what I was thinking of doing! How did you know? I wish the ballet barres worked like regular gym equipment so that Sims could "train" on them for pay.

I was really hoping for some toddler Rachel and Scout cuddle/torture shots, but they never seemed to be up and awake at the same time.

Haha. Great minds and all that obviously. ;) That is a pity that the ballet barres do not work like regular gym equipment in that aspect. Are you currently using the studio with the ticket machine? I think a combination of that and then the other part where you sell ballet shoes, posters and other such items would work well. Maybe once the vacation hoods are unlocked, Janine can go on a tour to learn all the various dances and then teach them to others when she gets back. If that is possible. :)

Ah toddlers and pets. Such a shame they were not about for some spam. I must say that it would have been adorable to see Rachel cuddling a silly and yet adorable looking Scout.
untidyfanuntidyfan on May 17th, 2011 12:06 am (UTC)
I'm not using the ticket machine here - I haven't been able to find the magic of making money with it, and I'd rather just sell items since it's easier to gain rank.

I definitely need to send her off on vacation to learn the new dances! It's so appropriate for her. And while she's there, she might have to look up Bruce. Maybe. At any rate, she'll be able to bring the dances back and teach her neighbors, even if she doesn't get paid to do it.

Oh dear, hopefully Scot isn't too disappointed in Scout!
untidyfanuntidyfan on May 17th, 2011 12:09 am (UTC)
I don't think Scot will blame Scout if he finds out... I just hope he never finds out! I like them as a couple.
Katekatee412 on May 18th, 2011 07:36 am (UTC)
Oh I meant because Scout didn't exactly turn into the big dog Scot had wanted!
untidyfanuntidyfan on May 18th, 2011 09:46 pm (UTC)
lol, that's what I thought you meant initially, but then I was like, oh yeah, Scout was the only witness to the kiss... and second-guessed myself. Sometimes I'm a bit obtuse.

Well, in that case, I think Scot's getting used to Scout's size. He just seems like more of a big dog sort of person to me.

OK. That's an... interesting looking dog :D
untidyfanuntidyfan on August 18th, 2011 03:19 am (UTC)
It's certainly an odd looking dog, I don't mind saying. He's had puppies with a cute dog, and I'm so curious to see how they turned out (which I won't find out for another rotation. :[ )
