BACC: The Charming Family, Week Two

The week starts out quietly at the Charming home.

The week starts by waiting for Annwn to pop out the kid. She's a little overdue, and I hope she has it while she's cooking. That way I can get at least one fire towards unlocking a law enforcement position.

No luck. C'mon baby! Hurry up!

Finally! But where's Troy?

"Oh, so ladies get upset if you miss the important moments in life... I'll have to remember that."

Almost there...

Please welcome the first native New Jennerican, Coraline. With the exception of Annwn and the townies, names are randomly generated.
Coraline appears to be a Mama clone except for having Troy's eyes.

I play with sounds off, so I'm not sure if little Coraline is crying or yawning. Whatever it is, it is adorable.

Troy eventually puts down the book and spends time with Coraline.

Must... resist... cute... baby... hypnosis...

The next day, Troy and Annwn work on making some siblings for Coraline.

Annwn wanted a potter's wheel, and she's forever rolling up the want to make some bit of pottery.

First snowfall in New Jennerica.

Baby butt! I'm not sure I'd want to be in the same room as a high-flying dirty diaper. The potential for disgusting disaster is too great.

The first burnt food. Sadly, this is as close as we've gotten to a fire.

Caught you this time Annwn! Don't try to blame it on the burnt spaghetti.

Couples who study together, stay together?

Caught you again! First pop.

Annwn, I know it's yummy, but cheesecake tastes better if you put in you mouth, not splash it over your face.

Troy makes it to this life event.

Blonde hair? Definitely wasn't expecting that.

Troy really wanted to teach Coraline to use the potty. Perhaps he saw the dangers of throwing dirty diapers in the air, too.

The glow matches their skin.

Again, skilling together = staying together.

Simultaneous second pop and a first SentryBot.

I promise you, this is the next day.

Meet Carena. First born of the twins and an actual blonde, I believe.

The youngest is Hattie. Looks like another redhead.

Because they only have two cribs, one baby is either stuck in the baby bouncinator or the baby dangler.

Annwn wanted an apple tree. It looks so lonely.

Carena's turn on the floor.

Good job, Troy! Now your children aren't stuck on the floor and you can restock the shop!

Scot Kwa, with your unfortunate nose, you must join this city.
Since Annwn is stuck at home with the kids, the New Jennerican Grocery had to hire him to help.

Why is this outfit so popular?!
I was able to get the shop to Rank 5 on Saturday, which means a spot in the business track is available.

Carena's first birthday.

Oh, dear lord. I need a clothing shop fast.

The nursery.

Troy does the honors for Hattie.

I <3 Hattie's looks. They're not a classically beautiful, but she's still cute. Hooray for something different! And hooray for a decent outfit!

Annwn is always asleep when Scout visits.

I had no idea toddlers could play with the butterflies!

Isn't that just typical? Mom and Dad try to have some "grown-up time," but the kids all want attention.

Time for Coraline to grow up.

Aha! Solved the mystery of the blonde hair. It didn't have a toddler/child mesh. I choose a strawberry blonde color as a compromise.

"Do you mind? I'm trying to scrub the glow off."

You failed, Coraline.

"Maybe if I can find Mom's home planet I can discover the reason for my persistent glow."

Carena gets Coraline's hand-me-downs.

Look! A non-redhead!

The week ends as a lazy Sunday. Coraline is still glowing. Will she ever stop?

Since I see them posted at the end of others' BACCs, my stats:
Playables: 5
Commerical lots: 1
College fund: $801 (this will take FOREVER)
Population: 10 (playables x sim multiplier of 2)

Fires: 0 (Why is that when it serves no purpose to burn things, you can't stop the imps from being pyromaniacs?)
I'm feeling: groggygroggy

The kids are adorable. I love how they are all very different looking even though they have the same parents.
Also, I was wondering, what ruleset are you going by? I think the rules we are using are slightly different.

Thanks! I got lucky with the kids somehow. Usually it's attack of the clone babies.

I'm using the ones at redmond-flats.weebly.com . I think you're using the more "original" ones, though. Was it the grocery delivery that tipped it off? Jennerica has a grocery store, it's just that the Charmings own it, so they can't buy groceries from themselves. :/ But at least they don't have to shell out any extra bucks.

No it was that for you business is unlocked when a store reaches rank five. For me, one position is open for every rank ten store and is unlocked when a sim reaches the top.
untidyfanuntidyfan on April 6th, 2011 01:10 pm (UTC)
Oh! Well, it's just a position that's unlocked at rank 5. I probably wrote the wrong thing - I tend to write here when I'm dog-tired. At this point in the timeline, it's the only position I have available. Sorry for the confusion.

I've skimmed the rules on boolpropped, and they just seem that much tougher! I've played through week three on two households, and I've hardly gotten any other spots unlocked. I'd pull my hair out if the challenge was much harder.

I like the tougher rules because it makes it more challenging and keeps me interested longer. That's why I've never really been able to get into a legacy - it's just too easy.

A wonderful update. :)

It would just so happen that when you want a fire, sims are able to cook perfectly on their own. How many fires do you have to have before you unlock the law enforcement position? I've never played a BACC but that sort of idea sounds interesting. Although it would require a lot of patience which I'm not sure I would have. ;p

All the children are turning out to be quite adorable and each with their own unique traits. I must say I laughed when Carena aged into the mummy costume. That was great!

Also peculiar that the strange outfit from AL seems to be so popular in Jennerica. Fashion trends, who understands them?

Poor Coraline and her eternal glow. I suppose if one has to have a glitch, at least it should be something a bit amusing such as that.

Thanks for reading! I always enjoy the Whittons updates, so I appreciate the compliment.

A law enforcement position opens up after every three fires. If they continue at this rate, there will be one open in oh, say, never weeks.

So far, this challenge has been a lot of fun. The only drawback is that at the end of a Simweek, I have to stop and move on to the next household. I'm documenting to keep myself honest, so I can't play more than a week ahead.

I guess Carena grew up to be quite the "mummy's girl" haha. The Maxis-chosen outfits are driving me a little bit batty, but hopefully there will be a clothing shop soon to remedy all that.

Nice hood, and nice pics!
About the jock outfit, I believe it has to do with the lot value, not that it helps much.
But those store outfits... I had to get rid of all the weird ones, as the game tends to randomly choose them all.the.time. it seems, like half of my townies/graduating sims got those medieval robes as outerwear >[ Poor mummy baby, and one crib short too lol

I like that you weren't afraid of picking an "ugly" townie as spouse, if you don't mind me putting it like this :p, the kids are really cute, and different as already said. I'll be happy to see what they look like later.

College fund: ...no comment, it's the depressing side of the BAC challenge :D

Now let's all hug the lonely apple tree!
untidyfanuntidyfan on April 20th, 2011 06:00 pm (UTC)

The lots were pretty cheap at the time which would explain the tackiness. Strangely, he brought the most money with him when he moved in. I'm tempted to ditch the store outfits, too. I have the same trouble with them.

Maybe soon the apple tree will have a whole orchard of friends.
